Redwood City is running one of the Peninsula's most ambitious planning efforts: the Greater Downtown Area Plan, paired with a newly adopted Economic Mobility Action Plan focused on upward mobility for residents.
A long-range plan organizing the greater downtown into seven distinct districts — including an 'Innovation and Incubation' district along Veterans Boulevard and Broadway envisioned as a mixed-use employment hub for startups, advanced manufacturing, and research. A preferred plan framework heads to City Council in fall 2026.
