Seven core goals: diversify and expand tax revenues; foster a business-friendly environment; support workforce development; increase workforce and affordable housing access; enhance entertainment and cultural offerings; maintain safe, vibrant business districts; and align with the General Plan. Includes local procurement language directing staff to source from local and small businesses where prudent.

Downtown activation & workforce partnerships

Staff are coordinating with the Chamber and the Downtown San Mateo Association on downtown activation and retail recruitment, alongside workforce partnerships with NovaWorks, JobTrain, and the College of San Mateo.
